Emma and The Professor
Emma and The Professor are Emma Heath (guitar and vocals) and Mark Davies (Bodhran and Cajon). They have been performing together on the folk circuit for 10 years.
Emma & The Professor give full throttle performances, weaving a journey through tales of lusty battles, love lost and found and legends deeply rich in our heritage. Their songs are contemporary folk with rock and roots influences. Their closeness as musicians and people can’t help but catch you up in their lively and animated gigs.
“They let rip in a joyous tumult of noise” – The Living Tradition
Emma has worked with Benji Kirkpatrick (Bellowhead and Faustus) with his first band ‘The Hedgerows’ and they featured on the first Evolving Tradition album. “Emma Heath is a real voice to listen out for in Folk, merging the haunting sensitivity of Sandy Denny with the commanding battle cries of Robert Plant.”
Mark Davies (The Professor) has recorded for Miles Hunt (The Wonder Stuff) on his album with Erica Knockalls ‘Catching More Than We Miss’. He has also performed with Mark Chadwick (The Levellers) who said “I don’t normally like the bodhran…but you’re extraordinary”.
They have supported Show of Hands, Flook, John Renbourn & Jacqui McShee, The Oyster Band, Vin Garbutt, Hazel O’Connor, 3 Daft Monkeys, Hobo Jones and The Junkyard Dogs and many, more.
