Norman Wheatley

Norman WheatleyNorman is usually to be found at Warwick Folk Club on Monday nights where he’s the organiser.

His folk music career started in March 1970 when he made his first public appearance at The City Arms Folk Club in Coventry.

Many years ago he presented folk programmes on the radio ( BBC Radio Birmingham, Mercia Sound, BRMB) and now produces a folk music webcast called Gentlefolk2 at, which attracts a regular, growing and appreciative audience.

He performs a variety of material including folk club favourites and funnies, some of which are his originals, some are by others.

A regular at festivals, an entertaining evening is assured, perhaps with songs from James Taylor, The Beatles, Tom Lehrer, Jake Thackray and then again, perhaps not… The odd comic monologue (some are very odd) rounds out the repertoire of a well-respected artist.
