Dear artists

We welcome approaches from you asking if you can play at the club. It would be appreciated if you could read the notes here,  and then check available dates below, (TBA is a bit of a hint) before contacting us.

Please note that all club meetings in future will be acoustic, ie, no PA will be provided. You are free to bring your own, of course.

Thanks

Clarksville Mountain Band

The Clarksville Mountain Band were formed in 2005, and play well known songs in a Bluegrass, Hillbilly style. Pete Dunn on bass guitar and Steve Layton on acoustic guitar played together for many years in a 12-piece Latin-American band called Octaves, in which Steve was the founder member. They enjoyed success all over the world travelling as far as South America.

Richard Heath – vocal, mandolin, washboard and ukulele – was originally a drummer with Blues / Rock bands with some success; recording and working with people such as Jim Lea (Slade), Stevie Young (AC/DC), and Steve Gibbons. Richard mellowed slightly to join the Bushbury Mountain Daredevils for three years, with three successful albums. He then went on to form the Gravelly Hillbillies, playing their own type of skifflebilly, performing at many Folk and Blues festivals in the UK and abroad, and recording three successful albums.

With this wealth of experience, the Clarkesville Mountain Band guarantee an entertaining evening.

Mean Mary in Concert

with Frank James

FRIDAY, 24 August

OSCA Centre, Owen Street, Atherstone CV9 1DG

7:30pm start – Bring your own drinks and food.

SOLD OUT !!

Tickets will not be available on the door.

Award-winning musician/writer and fan favourite (over 12 million views on her YouTube videos), Mean Mary, literally grew-up in music. She evolved from a child prodigy who played for tips on the streets of Nashville (“startling talent” said the Tennessean) to a seasoned performer and headliner of over 4000 festivals and concerts (“the voice of a ragged Angel combined with the banjo playing of the Devil” says No Depression). To date she plays 11 instruments and is known for her intense pickin’ speed and her irresistible story songs. Anything from ghost pirates and barefoot girls to demon guitars and iron horses could romp through a Mean Mary show—or run like mad when she enters fast-picking mode.

Mean Mary will be joined onstage by her brother, Frank James, and will travel the genres of roots, bluegrass, blues, and folk rock with unprecedented (and unpredictable) ease. She promises an intimate and fun preview of songs from her new album, Blazing, plus a lot of her old favourites as well. And yes, there are some really fast new songs—blazing fast!

Her personality and energy light up the room and the crowd goes crazy.”
~ Chris Lash, Radio Veteran, WDAP, WWON

Fantastic. I had chills from hearing your wonderful playing! Five Stars for sure!”
